Just FYI, that author is a Rosefen and she posted it to her comm/flist or whatnot before she posted to Martha comms, so those are kind of biased comments.

Crap, I totally wasn't paying attention when I posted, the Martha-bashing thing and the fic are two different things. The fic is excellent and made me want to write and the Martha-bashing was an icon post that was deleted off of dwicons.

The comments didn't bother me as much as that icon post, thank goodness it was deleted. It was ridiculous. Although, I know now to be just a little careful reading comments to fics.

Was that on dwicons? That's the only DW comm I'm see posts of besides the Martha one, and I don't recall that one. I'm sort of glad because bashing in itself is just...fail.

This fandom is so bipolar, I swear! All those Rose-bashing posts, and then after the first S4 episode, everyone popped up all excited about her sudden appearance. SO glad I'm not largely apart of it anymore.

Oh it was a post I think on the DW comm. I saw it through various posts about it on both sides. For the most part I stick to my flist and Rose centric comms, Though I have joined a Donna comm as well. I don't really care if people bash fictional characters that much (I came from a fandom where that was commonplace,) it is the hypocrisy of the fandom that makes me chuckle.

Actually I think the comments were resoundingly positive. Rosefen or not, not everyone likes Martha. For the most part, I fall in that category but that would have nothing to do with a fic review. And many Rose fans like Martha very much. There is certainly more then enough bashing of Rose, are all those who do that Marthafen and therefore biased?

I have to politely disagree. All the comments in the beginning started with "I wish THIS was the Martha we saw in S3." And those, imo, are biased comments. Not in terms of the author or the fic, she got very good comments for her writing, but you could tell by the tone of that beginning bunch that they weren't fans of Martha and that was what, it seemed to me, bummed meganlynn09 out. And so my point here was to clarify that it's not everyone who dislikes Martha, but certain people. But by now we all know this. Also I don't mean to be wanky in any shape or form, but I would be lying if those comments didn't bother me a little.

*Shrugs* I didn't see anything wrong with the comments. And if the people there do not like Martha, I don't think it is due to the fact that they like Rpse that makes them fell that way. I for one was all excited for Martha on TW, and I was resoundly disappointed and that has not a thing to do with Rose. Unfortunately, yes. Some of them are Marthafen and another faction of them are Old Skool people who don't like the term OTP thrown around. It's a shipper war that comes and goes in waves, but it looks like it never ends. Which is sad and unfortunate because it makes the fandom very mean spirited. Proof are those awful anti-Martha icons, and that anti-Rose post you mentioned. There's no need to take part in it actively, but it's also not necessary to ignore what's going on.
